The Basics

  • Boutique, expressive, and more than anything, a place to stay your way. In fact, we practice the philosophy of staying laissez faire here at The Frenchmen. A place we encourage you to move at your own pace, be it a late morning, a midday swim, or a spirited midnight cocktail. A place to discover the vibrant sights, sounds and flavors of the Marigny without the need for an itinerary. The culture, the flavors, the spirits, the sights, the sounds — it’s all here for you to discover on your terms.

  • Check-in begins at 4pm. Checkout time is 11am

Please note: guests must be 21+ years of age to check-in to The Frenchmen Hotel

  • Our property is located 417 Frenchmen Street in the heart of all the Frenchmen Street action and on the edge of New Orleans’ treasured Marigny neighborhood.

  • Due to the historic nature of our property (built in 1860), our hotel may require the use of stairs and may not offer certain accessibility features of newer buildings. Please see our accessibility page for complete information or call with inquiries

  • We’ll give it to you straight: our hotel is not necessarily a peaceful, quiet haven of relaxation. Our bar Tiki Tock is attached to the hotel and literally right outside a couple of our guest rooms. We can’t promise peace and quiet but we can promise a great time along with comfort and style when you’re ready to head back to your room.

  • The Frenchmen is located in the heart and soul of New Orleans–and within walking distance to loads of attractions and the best parts of the city. As such, parking is a commodity. We do not offer guest parking, and we’d strongly recommend leaving your car at home if you can, as street parking is trés difficile.

During your Stay

  • No matter the time of year or reason for your travel, there is always an unlimited amount of adventure and things to do in New Orleans. Chek our our list of favorite local recommendations.

  • You won’t be able to miss our on site bar, Tiki Tock. We don’t offer room service but we have great in-room snacks for those late-night munchies (as well as light breakfast items in our lobby every morning) and are always happy to direct you to our favorite places for food and drinks. Check out our local recommendations or talk to our guest experience staff for personalized recommendations.

  • Light breakfast items (for purchase) and complimentary coffee will be available in our lobby each morning, and we are always happy to recommend nearby breakfast joints if you’re looking for something more.

  • Yes! The Frenchmen is happy to offer free high-speed WiFi throughout the property. You’ll receive information about logging on at check-in.

  • Two (sometimes 3) -night reservations may be required during some periods. This may cause our availability calendar to show “No Availability” if you're looking for shorter stays. If you're interested in a one-night stay please call the hotel directly.

  • Please see our policies page for full details on our cancellation policy.

  • Book directly on our website or give us a call at (504) 688-2900

  • While most of our guest rooms sleep a maximum of four adults, our Standard, Queen & King rooms comfortably sleep two. Our two Double Queen rooms and Marigny Suite can sleep up to 4 adults (and no extra person fees will be assessed).

Our two Queen Loft Suites are priced for 2 guests, but can sleep up to 4. The Frenchmen Suite can sleep up to 8 total adults but is priced for 6. For those two room types, an extra person fee of $50 per person, per night will be assessed for extra guests in those rooms.

Pets and Children

  • While we welcome service animals, unfortunately, pets (including emotional support animals) are not permitted at our hotel. We are happy to recommend nearby kennels for use during your stay.

  • The Frenchmen is distinctly an adult-oriented hotel property, with an on-site music venue and bar. It's unabashedly loud and often raucous. Families with children would very likely be happier and better accommodated at another location, which we are happy to recommend. Please feel free to call us at with questions, advice, and recommendations if you're traveling with kids.
